The purpose of the Sumter School District’s Code of Conduct is to maintain a culture which achieves safe schools, creates an environment conducive to learning, and maintains order in the schools. In district policy AR JICDA-R, the Board and the Administration provide categories of offenses, and recommended disciplinary dispositions are included for each category. The categories are as follows:
● Category I (one) Offenses (least severe)
● Category II (two) Offenses (more severe; result in suspension)
● Category III (three) Offenses (most severe; expulsion recommendation)
Parents should be aware that the school has provided formal instruction for your child which supports his/her understanding of the Code of Conduct for the 2020-21 school year. In addition, your child has received a copy of the Code of Conduct. You are respectfully requested to review the document with your child. If needed, contact your child’s teacher or administrator with any concerns or questions that you may have.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and support as we continue to “Educate, Empower, and Enrich” all students.
